AT&T is suing Verizon Wireless for misleading advertising. But its actions could do the company more harm than good. The reason for the lawsuit: Verizon (VZ) has been mocking Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone “There’s an App for That” ads. Verizon TV ads show off a coverage map depicting its larger, third-generation (3G) wireless coverage next to AT&T’s smaller 3G coverage map. About a week ago, my iPhone and my BlackBerry flew off the roof of my car as I drove down a New Jersey road at about 35 miles per hour. As I looked in my rear view mirror and saw my beige canvas bag flying from my car to the road below, I pulled over to the emergency lane, jumped out of the car, and ran toward the bag. Apple will patch iPhone security hole

Apple (AAPL) will issue a software patch for its iPhone as early as Saturday.

Apple issues iPhone patch to combat security problem

Apple (AAPL) has issued a software patch for its iPhone, which the company said is available now on iTunes. The fix comes after a potential hack into cell phones was described at a security conference Thursday.

“This morning, less than 24-hours after the demonstration of this exploit, we’ve issued free software that eliminates the vulnerability from the iPhone,” Apple spokesman Tom Neumayer told DailyFinance. Read the rest of this entry »
